A little of Sorrento, at home in the Andalusian hills. Sal’s Italian Kitchen is a private residential food experience for up to four guests: cooking, tasting and sharing meals in our home, with your own casitas to return to and time to enjoy Tierra Fina.

Cooking at Casa Maria.

Casa Maria is our home at Tierra Fina, named after Sal’s mother, Maria. It is here, gathered around our kitchen, that her family traditions find a new home among the olive trees and hills of Andalucía.

Sal grew up in Sorrento, learning to cook beside his mother from childhood. He went on to own and cook in his Italian restaurant in London for 17 years, but the food he loves begins with those early memories: dishes passed down through the family, made with care and shared generously. It’s the spirit of Nonna’s cooking, brought to our table.

Making, tasting, talking.

Gather around the kitchen with Sal, roll up your sleeves and join in. Ask questions, taste as you go and discover the little instincts and techniques behind his cooking. Conversation and laughter are part of the experience, with the easy warmth of being welcomed into a family home.

Fresh pasta and gnocchi, breads, sauces, Southern Italian dishes, desserts and homemade ice creams are all part of his repertoire. Along the way, Sal shares the practical knowledge that makes cooking at home a pleasure: what you can prepare ahead, what freezes beautifully and how a versatile base sauce or a little preparation can become several different meals.

You leave with more than recipes: a better understanding of how the food comes together, and the confidence to bring a little of Sal’s kitchen into your own.

Shared meals are part of Sal’s Italian Kitchen, whether beneath the olive trees or joining Hannah and Sal on our home terrace for a hosted meal.

Your group. Your own casitas.

The experience is reserved for one group of up to four, with Vine and Jasmine booked together for your party. Come as two couples, family or friends, for a celebration or simply time away together. Cooking takes place with Sal at Casa Maria; your accommodation is in the two separate guest casitas.

A few days, or a slower week.

Shorter three- or four-day stays bring together time in the kitchen, shared meals and relaxed afternoons. A week-long stay gives everything more room to breathe, combining cooking with opportunities for day trips, exploring the white villages, visiting the coast and enjoying your own downtime.

There’s time to linger over lunch, read on the terrace or wander beneath the olive trees. The pleasure of Italian home cooking belongs naturally here: good ingredients, generous hospitality and time to enjoy both the food and the Andalusian setting.
